VEET

Evitech recognizes the need for energy savings by encouraging the efficient use of gas and electricity.

Evitech recognizes the need for energy savings by encouraging the efficient use of gas and electricity. As this program is attributed to benefit enterprises and houses, we appreciate the Victorian Government’s initiative of providing energy-efficient products and services at discounted prices. Indeed a contribution to condense energy bills and defeat greenhouse gas radiations.

This scheme is administered under the Act, the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target Regulations 2018. These regulations help to maintain the level of incentive rendered for activities in the program, as well as the techniques practiced to calculate the associated greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reductions.

What is the VEET Scheme?

VEET

The VEET scheme, in particular, contributes to making energy efficiency advancements increasingly affordable, offers to the reduction of greenhouse gases, and inspire investment, employment, and revolution in enterprises that provide energy efficiency assets and services.

The program operates by establishing a target extending throughout the state for energy conservations that can be achieved through a variety of energy-efficient products and services. These products and services are made available to enterprises and houses at reduced rates.

Authorized providers can generate Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs) as they deliver these financial incentives.

The greenhouse gas savings associated with the product or service determines the number of certificates generated. And, the market activities and certificate prices have power over the level of incentive or discount endured by households and enterprises.

The Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program is a market-based plan. So, the value of certificates can vary due to customer supply and demand rates. Similarly, the availability of products and services can also deviate over time.

Some Considerations:

This program administrator, Essential Services Commission (ESC), is the autonomous regulator of the retail energy capital in Victoria. It oversees compliance and performance reporting by energy businesses and approves enterprises, the products, and services that are eligible under the program.

You may find more information about the administration of the program on the ESC website.
